*** ARE YOU STUBBORN OR ARE YOU HAUGHTY?

Stubborn or haughty?

Are you stubborn or are you haughty? What is the difference?

STUBBORNNESS
Stubbornness is when you continue to do the right thing even when circumstances and people are against you. And even if it may cause you to be arrested and/or killed for what you believe is right. It is associated with PATIENCE and HUMBLENESS.

HAUGHTINESS
Haughtiness is the opposite of stubbornness, but towards the negative side. It is associated with IMPATIENCE, ARROGANCE and BEING A BULLY. If you force yourself and your believes, whether it is right or wrong, onto someone else, you are not stubborn, you are haughty! You may try again and again and again to convince the other person to conform to your way of doing things or your way of believing, but this could cause more problems than what you think it would. There are much better ways of convincing a person that he or she is not doing the right thing!

As you can see stubbornness is GOOD and haughtiness is BAD.

HOW TO CONVINCE A PERSON

As you can see haughtiness would NEVER convince a person to change his or her ways. It would make him or her even more convinced to prove you wrong.

So, you may ask, what is at least one better way of doing it? It may take a while to happen (but much quicker than trying to bully it into him or her), but being the perfect example would. If you SHOW him or her the right way with humbleness and patience (yes, stubbornly but quietly - don't say anything), they should eventually realize that you are right and they are not...

CONCLUSION

We need to search ourselves to see if their are any haughtiness in us. If we find any, we need to repent and return to God NOW.
